Plan B

The new pill called Plan B has cause a lot of controversy from not just parents of adolescence but from the white house.  The pill was said to stop unwanted pregnancies within 72 hours after intercourse.  The pill Plan B is also called the morning after pill.  The pill caused controversy over whether it should be sold over the counter to minors.  The pill will now only be sold to people over seventeen years of age, those who are sixteen years or younger need a prescription to get this pill.  Plan B is an excuse to be irresponsible, allows sexually active people to be worried free of pregnancies.

In my opinion the plan b is another form of abortion even though it isn’t quite the same it still has the same effect.  I only believe it would be ok to use plan B if someone was raped and the needed the pill for precaution.  I for one don’t believe in abortion or any form of abortion.  Freshman Ariana brooks said, kids over 13 or 14 should be over the counter. Freshman Andrea Taylor said, “no, then they will think they can just have unprotected sex what if the pill is deflected.”  Freshman Ellisha Reed said,  “Yes, if young women forgot to use protection then Plan B gives you that to not pay the consequence.”  Freshman Khadidrah Simmons said, “Yes, so it can prevent pregnancies.”  These are all opinions from teens so as you can see everyone has a different opinion.  I still think that it shouldn’t be over the counter.

Affrika Clarke missing from parkway west high school

15-year-old Affrika Clarke went missing on the morning of November 30th.  Police are asking the public for any information.  She was supposable seen getting into a grey sedan with tinted windows.  If anyone has seen her than please contact the authorities or the # on the 6 ABC news website.

This is such a tragedy because Affrika is a close friend of mines.  I do believe she is ok.  Affrika is strong and very smart I’m sure this whole thing is a miss understanding.  Every time I see Affrika she has a giant smile on her face and she brings smiles to everyone around her.  She attends parkway high school.  Affrika was wearing dark black pants and a grey plaid jacket.  She is a light skinned African female, with long black hair, 5’7 tall, and weighs approximately 140 pounds.
Yesterday afternoon Afrika Clarke was spotted safe and sound on 52 streets.  A student that attends this schools’ parent found her.  Her parent then contacted the police to pick her up and the police contacted her parents were she was picked up on 51 street.  I knew she was going to be ok I had complete faith in Affrika I know she wouldn’t be stupid enough to make everyone worry.

The last person to see Affrika before her disappearance walked her to the store to get a snack to eat and after saying goodbye no one has seen her since that day.  We are so happy to have her back safe and sound.

"The Pain of Bullying" news article

The article the pain of bullying is a letter telling how bullying hurts people. Charles M. Blow’s article expresses how hard it is for children to tell this to a parent and when they finally do let a parent or supporter in it can, “can lead a child back to life.” Charles M. Blow also says if children cant find relief at home there is always school.  This letter/blog was based off another story called, “The Bleakness of the Bullied” by and this article expressed the physical and emotional pain of bullying.

I have faced bullying before I know kids can be cruel but on the other hand I was a bully I hurt people and I did do it out of rage so that is the case for me but that not be for others.  Nothing good comes out of bullying you make people cry and question their life.  One of the girls I used to bully goes to this school I asked her if I knew her from somewhere because I remembered her face.  She said, “yea, I think you were the girl that hit me in my face.”  I honestly died a little inside because she is so sweet how could anyone hurt her.  Then I found out I was just one of many.

Charles M. Blow is a very brave person for confronting this head on because I could never.  In the story  “The Bleakness of the Bullied” it said, “a couple of years ago, when two 11-year-old boys killed themselves after enduring years of homophobic taunting” this is sad we cannot continue to let this happen.

Coach finally fired from penn-state

Controversy over whether Joe Paterno the coach of Penn state university should be fired because a scandal that he may of may not be involved in.  Joe Paterno’s assistant and what he called a close friend has been found guilty of molesting young boys that attended a camp Joe Paterno coached.  Joe Paterno has been accused of knowing this was going on but doing nothing to stop it.  Joe Paterno said that he did say something to his bosses and that they chose to do nothing because they didn’t want any controversy at their school.  Little to late interviewers say to coach Paterno.

In my opinion Joe Paterno should be fired and sent to jail for taking showers with young boys.  He probably did more, now I’m not the person to quickly judge but I’ve read into this and heard interviews.  Joe Paterno is guilty in my mind and needs to go to jail not forever but for some while to learn what happened isn’t ok.  He even tried to make a compromise because he knew he would be fired he asked to coach a few more games.  In my opinion that’s what guilty people do but how could I know?

I believed that Joe Paterno is guilty and im glad that he was finally fired.  The judge will decide if he should go to jail or not and I can do is share my opinion so I’ll gladly share my opinion and I hope it doesn’t come out slured but hopefully, ignorant just a little.
